All things digitalisation
We’re kickstarting our next theme on digitalisation with another part of a long-lost series, culturala conversations. This time we’ve got a video conversation hosted by Maria. Here, she speaks to muti collective’s Tabea and Nuno about how they ended up working with web3, creating a DAO and sponsoring mini art residencies. For muti, the crypto world isn’t about capitalism – it’s about using code tools to make democratic decisions as a community and experiment with that.
RELEASE DATE: MARCH 10.
Next up, our new series of open calls – and you’re invited to participate. We’re opening up our website to feature your texts and thoughts. First theme: is digital art art? Send us your pitches to sarah@culturala.org. All kinds of content welcome, aiming at 1,000 words but as always – it’s all approximate.
Upcoming newsletters…
Apart from a much-needed newsletter from muti collective together with our video, we’ve got an incoming piece from D Contemporary written by Greek artist and director Irene Pouliassi. D Contemporary is an artist-run project space gone contemporary art gallery that often works with young and up-and-coming artists from all over the world, collaborating with embassies to be able to invite them over to London to exhibit in the middle of Mayfair.
We’ve also got a very exciting feature of award-winning Sengalese-Canadian documentary photographer Clara Watts, who's work has been featured in HuffPost and Business Insider. In this written conversation, we speak to Clara about how she started off as a documentary photographer and her advice to other young photographers looking to do the same. Stay tuned!
March is your last chance to see Diana Lizette Rodriguez’ film DONDE COCINAMOS streaming on our website. Next up: Bruno Atkinson’s film Tempest (2023). Release date: April.
Stay tuned and stay happy.
With love,
